I spent some time yesterday redecorating the old blog. I had been posting my weekly weight loss stats every Wednesday and it was really getting too long to keep putting in a post. So I ended up making it a permanent feature of the main page. You’ll find it on the lower left hand side. I also spent an inordinate amount of time messing around with Bubble Share vertical slide shows yesterday. As you can see I replaced my prior fruit and veggie decorations with these. I also spent some time this morning selecting a new welcome banner. I got a little sidetracked into the world of blinkies. Fun stuff and I may end up snagging a few more for the blog here in coming days. When I get tired of this I may change it some more.
I’m very pleased with my collection of raw blog links. However, it’s gotten so long that I don’t get around to everyone’s blog as often as I used to. I’m trying to drop in a couple of times of month to see how my blogger buddies are doing. I always find so many interesting and inspiring things on raw food blogs and I hope by sharing my collection other folks might also get to enjoy all this raw food brilliance. I do delete blogs that have become inactive. Usually, I look for activity in the past month, so be warned, if you go a month without writing you will get booted from my blogroll. (Smile)
All is well in my world. Still living on green smoothies. My tummy was a little twisted last night. Can’t imagine why…although I did get my monthly visitor yesterday. Don’t see why that would effect my digestion. Whatever. I’m feeling fine now and drinking a green smoothie as I blog. No big plans for the day. The fireworks around the house were not as bad this year as last. Actually the campers on the street are being very well behaved right now. (Knock on wood). No big plans for the day. Mary got pretty tuckered running around directing the local 4th of July parade. She was also a judge this year. She had fun but could use some chill time today. Until tomorrow, I’ll leave you with the usual.

Hi Valerie
Like the changes :) The Bubble viewer is so nice. I like to see all the beautiful fruits and veggies float by. Was looking back at some older posts and found the mugs you were talking about and ordered 2 of them. I have been looking for something just like this. Thanks :)
Valerie,
I realize it's just a number . . .but, it's almost 100 pounds released! Wonderful.
Reading Pema Chodron's, "Start Where You Are." Easily reminds me of your blog, a similar essence of your writing style. Through this(ese) generous blog(s), you offer a clear example of how to simply "be" in each moment, best we can.
Also, tandemly started reading "Green for Life," and sooner began the green smoothie habit. The changes are subtle yet happening so soon. Even my fav cravings are avoided. Like meditation, sure - the thought arises and flows away. Each moment different. Depression still a wee present - increased workouts and doubling up my greenshakes. Feels like a nourishment beyond physical.
Have a great evening,
Jean
My dearest Jean,
I don’t think you could have paid me a higher compliment. I can not tell you how much I admire and respect Pema Chodron’s work and writing. I’ve not found any good internet forums to discuss her books. If you know of any please let me know.
It’s so good that you are reading “Green For Life”. I particularly liked the testimonials at the end. Thanks for taking the time to leave me such a nice comment. Talk to you soon.

Hi Gracie,
I hope you like the mugs. I’ve recently started using quart size mason jars while at home and find they also work well.
Bubble share is so cool. When I started my blog in March I would not have imagined I would be doing slide shows or youtube videos. I wonder what the next big thing will be. I wonder if people will be doing blogs in 5 or 10 years.

Hi Valerie,
I was wondering if you have noticed any changes in your "monthly visitor" since going raw? I've read lots of anecdotal evidence that it will become lighter & ligher and eventually disappear if you eat raw long enough, but personally don't know anyone who has been that fortunate.
You are doing great! Thanks for sharing your progress with us so regularly. I know how much time blogging can suck up, so I really appreciate your efforts.
Hi Jennifer,
That’s a good question. In the past when I went on and off the McDougall program, a low fat cooked vegan program, I noticed big changes in my monthly cycle. Much lighter flow and generally easier time all around. Naturally I expected the same result with the green smoothie experiment, and I still do hope that will happen. But it hasn’t happened yet. With McDougall it happened by the second month and I’ve been doing the green smoothie thing now for 4 months. This month is just getting started so it might end up being lighter then last month. Let’s hope so. I’ve lost weight about three times faster living on green smoothies then I did on the McDougall program. I’m wondering if the rapid weight loss is messing with my hormones. It could be that someone at a normal weight would get different results. I think I’ll talk about this in my blog tomorrow. Thanks for asking.
